Description
MACt Grout Mix (20kg)
MACt Grout is a blend of cement, pozzolan, admix and plasticizers. It is used to fill all the voids or imperfections in your concrete of gfrc piece.
MACt premixed grout only needs water and colour to be used. When mixing mix your grout to a toothpaste consistency. This consistency will be great for filling all the larger voids and pinholes, it will also be great for moulding chipped corners.
Before grouting it is key to wet down the surface. This will stop all the moisture being sucked out of the grout which can causing cracking in the larger voids.
We recommend applying it with your hands. Make sure you are wearing gloves, this way you can push it into all the voids and microcracks.
After you have pushed it in it is key to make sure you remove all the excess. If you don’t sanding or grinding it off will take a lot of time as it will dry very hard.
After it has cured for several hours it is best to sand it off with an orbital sander and a 180-240 grit sandpaper. We have found that it is best to do all the corners by hand with the sandpaper as it tends not to change the arris of the corners.
After you have sanded and if there are still any holes repeat the process.
Hints:
- For colouring we add 1.1-1.2 times the required oxide as we find that it will dry slightly lighter then to piece being grouted.
- We don’t recommend spot grouting as the grout can discolour those spots, so it is recommended to grout the whole piece each time.
- It is common for people to think that sealer will fill the pinholes. This is not the case with the MACt range of sealers.
- Sealing with pinholes will make the pinholes more apparent in the final piece.
Steps for using MACt Grout:
- Mix the grout with water and colour, to a toothpaste consistency.
- Wet down the surface before grouting.
- Apply the grout using your hands, wearing gloves.
- Press the grout into all voids and microcracks.
- Remove all excess grout.
- After curing for several hours, sand off the grout with an orbital sander and 180-240 grit sandpaper. Focus on corners by hand.
- Repeat the process if there are still holes.
- Sand the surface again with 180-240 grit sandpaper for a smooth finish.
- Clean the surface with a damp cloth to remove any dust or debris.
- Apply a sealer to protect the grout and enhance the colour.
Recommendations:
- Sand the surface again after curing for a smooth finish.
- Clean the surface before applying sealer to ensure proper adhesion.
- Use a sealer to protect the grout and enhance the colour of the piece.
